Logan, UT LDS Temple
I’m from Hyrum and my husband Chase Combe is from Draper. We met at a bonfire up in Logan where he was hanging out with some friends that went to USU like I did. We hardly met that night but the following morning I went to get snow cones with my friend and one of his friends. After we got snow cones, we got back in his friends car and there was Chase, waking up from a nap in the back seat. That's when we really hit it off and got to know each other. Somehow in his groggy state I still fell for him! While talking he friended me on Facebook, and the following day he messaged me. We started talking and texting after that, but he couldn’t take me out for about a month because he was headed to Peru on a study abroad military gig. Once he got back, he immediately took me out and we met up in Ogden (the halfway point for us). The first date made me realize how much I really liked this guy. We just got along great, and everything felt so easy not to mention he is drop dead handsome. We met up at a Mexican restaurant there, walked around downtown Ogden, tried every flavor of popcorn at a little popcorn shop, and then played some galactic golf (glow in the dark mini golf). We grabbed ice cream and headed back talking and talking about everything. Then he walked me out to my car and Kissed me! It really was the perfect kiss, and there truly were sparks! I knew we had something, but I didn't quite know how special. We continued to date and meet up and amazingly were able to spend a lot of time together despite the distance. Eventually, Chase surprised me and took me up Bell Canyon where we got to a little reservoir and he pulled out an inflatable canoe in his pack and some sparkling cider and pizza Lunchables. He explained he was taking me on a “gondola ride through Italy,” and as we floated out he then told me he loved me! About 4 months later he took me to the same place, and on the bridge with lights and music all around, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! I said yes of course! 6 months later we were married in the Logan Temple. Everything turned out better than I could have even imagined thanks to all our friends and family and my wonderful prince charming!
