Prom Tips || Petals and Promises styled prom photo shoot

Whether your crush finally asked you to Prom or you’ve opted to go with all your best girl friends, it’s time to find the perfect prom dress. At Petals and Promises, we have so many different options for your special occasion. We carry a wide variety of designers and styles, not to mention a huge selection of One of a Kind dresses you won’t find anywhere else. So how do you get the perfect look for prom? Here are some of our top tips:

1. Start looking for your dress 4-6 weeks in advance. Although we can definitely help you find something on the same day as your event, most dresses require alterations and we don’t want you to miss out on the dress of your dreams because it doesn’t fit perfectly. Shopping early also ensures you get the best selection.

2. Get some “Pinspiration”. Check out Pinterest or magazines to find the latest trends and get an idea for what you are looking for. There are so many different fits and fabrics to choose from, getting an idea of what you want ahead of time is a great idea.

3. Don’t be afraid to try something completely different! As you’re going through the racks with all the gorgeous dresses, there is bound to be one that catches your eye that is completely different from what you thought you wanted! Our advice, try it anyways! It’s great to see what different shapes and styles look like on your body!

4. To complete your prom or special occasion look, pick out accessories that make you feel glamorous! We carry a wide variety of earrings, bracelets, hair pieces and even satin gloves! If you plan to wear your hair up, a big pair of earrings is a gorgeous touch!

  1. These dresses are lovely! I think my favorite is the crop lace blouse with the A-line skirt – you never see that, so it’s sure to turn some heads on the dance floor. Thanks for the tips!
