On this very snowy January day, we are reminiscing of warmer days. We participated in this on-trend styled shoot back in October. It’s one of our favorites because it incorporates all of our favorite trends of 2016. Trends included lace gowns, illusion backs, flower crowns, naked wedding cakes, flowing hair and greenery.
Lace gowns have always been a classic, but in recent years the trend really took off. Many gowns sold last year were slim-fitting lace gowns. We expect that trend will continue and cannot be more excited about it! Some of our favorite lace gowns that we have in stock include: M573, 2966, 2960, MJ204,and M571
Illusion backs and necklines can add such gorgeous detail to gowns! Not only are they beautiful but they can easily be filled in to add modesty to a lot of dresses. We have seen illusion sleeves begin to take off too, we are loving it!
Flower crowns have become a popular trend for brides, bridesmaids, and flower girls. They can add gorgeous detail to a bridal look. We love when brides have a bold flower crown and bridesmaids have simpler ones, often made of baby’s breath.
Many brides are choosing to ditch the fondant and heavy frosting, opting instead for a naked wedding cake. We love how The Graceful Baker incorporated naked cakes with a burgundy red bottom layer. So gorgeous! We hope this trend stays awhile.
We love that brides are going for a more natural, less put together look! Wearing your hair down with soft waves gives your bridal look a very romantic feel. We see a lot of brides wear their hair down for bridal photos and then having it styled up in a loose up-do for their wedding day to keep it looking fabulous all day long. This hair style done by Sarita Dawn at Studio 170 is perfect!
Greenery has been a big trend in bridal bouquets! We love the arrangements and bouquet that Plant Peddler Floral put together! They incorporated the most gorgeous flowers with the perfect amount of greenery!
The best part about these trends? We expect them to stick around for 2017! We anticipate satin and a lot of detailed beading to be very trendy too!
