Their Love Story:

“Brandon and I first met in the Fall of 2014 when he was a missionary in the Texas Fort Worth Mission. He will tell everyone that we “only made out on P-days and that we went hot-tubbing on Sundays”- insert eye roll. We didn’t really speak more than a few words to each other the whole time he was there. Once he got home from his mission in June of 2015, he invited all of his Facebook friends to his homecoming talk. I lived in Texas and he was up in Idaho, so I obviously couldn’t make it. I sent him a message sarcastically apologizing for not being able to go to his homecoming talk. We continued to talk back and forth through Facebook. He came back to Texas with his mom to visit his mission in July of 2015. We had joked about going on a date when he came to visit but his schedule was too busy. One night while he was visiting Texas, dinner plans fell through and we had the opportunity to go on our first date. We were practically inseparable after that until he went back to Idaho. We dated long distance, visiting each other for a weekend or a few days once a month until December. In December I moved to Logan, UT so that we could give it an actual chance. One of our first dates, when I came to meet Brandon’s family for the first time, we went to the Paris Ice Caves up in Idaho. This place has a great significance as Brandon chose to propose there in May of 2016.

The ring was better than I could have ever imagined! He had designed it based off a ring that I liked but wasn’t completely in love with. He works at S.E. Needham Jewelers and even got to set the stones in the ring himself. It is absolutely flawless. The wedding planning started immediately! I had set up appointments at a few bridal shops with our first stop at Petals and Promises. I found my dream dress and ended up cancelling all the other appointments.

We were married on September 24, 2016 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple, the prettiest castle there ever was. My bridesmaids and I had breakfast and got ready with Texas shaped waffles and lots of laughs. Jessica Nelson of Jessica Nelson Makeup Artistry did my makeup for our engagements, bridals, and the day of the wedding! I absolutely LOVE her. She is incredible! After we got ready, we headed to the temple and then to the luncheon catered by Iron Gate grill at the Logan River golf course Country Club after. We had a ring ceremony and reception at Brandon’s parents’ house in Preston, Idaho. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!! We had a cake from Shaffer House Bakery, a caramel apple bar, and lots of goodies for a chocolate fountain. I hand made many of the decorations because I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, so I made it! Brandon and I are kind of goofy people, and one of our favorite wedding photos involves the bridal party running through a field with a photo-shopped dinosaur chasing us(see bottom of post). Kennedy of Kennedy Kiara Photography was our photographer for engagements, bridals, and our wedding all day. Kennedy is that photographer that makes everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and has you laughing the whole time. After our reception in Idaho, we left for our honeymoon and then went to Texas for another reception later that week since I am from Texas. It was so wonderful. Brandon is seriously the greatest guy on the planet. He is so supportive and so wonderful. He is seriously a dream come true!” -Emily
